Prior to beginning his own law firm in August, 1990, Alan J. Polin was a partner with the New York law firm of Mousaw, Vigdor, Reeves, Heilbronner & Kroll (Ft. Lauderdale office). His practice areas are real estate law specializing in commercial and residential developer acquisitions and development, construction and financing, business organizations and banking law. The holder of an undergraduate degree (cum laude), from Seton Hall University, Mr. Polin also did undergraduate work at Cornell University and received his law degree from Nova University Center for the Study of Law.
Mr. Polin is a member of The Florida Bar, The New York Bar, is a licensed athlete agent in Florida, and is a licensed life, health and variable annuities insurance agent all in Florida. He served as a Member of the Board of Governors, Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar from 1987 to 1989. He also served as a Member of the Florida Bar Seventeenth Circuit Grievance Committee from 1989 to 1992 and as its Chairman from 1991 to 1992. In addition to his successful practice of law, Mr. Polin served the City of Coral Springs as City Commissioner from 1991 to 2004. During that period he served as Vice Mayor from 1994 to 1996 and 2002 to 2004. Alan served the Town of Hillsboro Beach as Commissioner from 2006 to 2009. Mr. Polin practiced law in Ft. Lauderdale with Mousaw, Vigdor et als. from 1986 to 1990. In August, 1990, Mr. Polin established his own law practice in the City of Coral Springs. He also served as Chairman of the Florida Intergovernmental Finance Commission from 2002 to 2004. In 2000, Mr. Polin received the Distinguished Public Service Award from the Anti-Defamation League. Alan served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the City of Coral SprIngs Downtown Coral Springs Community Redevelopment Agency from 2004-2006. Mr. Polin has served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Temple Beth Am and the Junior Achievement of South Florida. He currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Regional Board of Anti-Defamation League and the American Heart Association.
